New Direction is a company that conducts activities of financial nature and, as such, falls under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. The CCPA does not exempt companies with this classification from its requirements but Section 1798.145(e) in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) has exempted personal information collected by these types of firms since they are regulated by GLBA.
