The Building Department is responsible for enforcing the state's building, plumbing and gas codes as well as architectural access board regulations. This office also issues permits to those wishing to build new structures or expand existing ones; they are in charge of performing on-site inspections during construction projects that can lead them into investigating zoning complaints when necessary!
