Edwin Jerome came to Detroit from New York with his father and three brothers in 1827. He opened a school at the corner of Larned Street and Randolph Avenue where it met back then, teaching during winter when others were home freezing their balls off! By now there are 2 thousand people living across 135 squares miles - but Dettroit hasn't stopped growing yet...
