The Mount Sinai Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism Institute (DOMI) at the Icahn School of Medicine has been created to find a cure for diabetes. They're also looking into ways that could help prevent it in people who are genetically susceptible or likely never develop Type 2 DM due their early life events such as obesity with other related complications like heart disease
