Northwest Eye Physicians was founded in 1942 by Dr. Paul Cusick and became the first ophthalmologist to perform cataract surgery live on television. He was joined by Dr. Michael Michael and several other notable optometrists over the years who were early pioneers in cataract and retinal procedures, also employing preeminent optometrists to serve a fledgling contact lens industry.
