2012 OK River Run and Dog Jog (8.0 miles)

Takes place at Wiley Post Park

8 am - 5K Sanctioned Run (River Run) USATF Certified and sanctioned (no dogs allowed) 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards given in 5 year age categories. Grand Prize given to overall male and female.
9 am - 3K Dog Jog For runners or walkers with or without dogs. All dogs must be leashed and have current rabies vaccinations. Children 12 and under with a registered adult may participate free in the Dog Jog. Registration Fee includes T-shirt and doggie bandanas while supplies last.

The Oklahoma Division Magna Charta Dames and Barons will have its annual luncheon and meeting at noon June 2 at the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club, 3501 Quail Creek Road, Oklahoma City.

Irma Stewart will portray Alice Paul, who along with Lucy Burns and others led a successful campaign for women's suffrage that resulted in the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920.

Pen Women Art Group Meeting (2.5 miles)

Takes place at Chen's Buffet and happens on first Saturday of each month

Lunch is followed by a discussion of the arts and general fellowship, then a 20- to 30-minute presentation from a speaker on the arts. There are no meetings in June, July or August.

Founded in Washington, D.C., in 1897, Pen Women fulfilled the need for writers, but gradually made all of the arts available for women to appreciate and enjoy.

Downtown Dash (6.3 miles)

Takes place at St Anthony Hospital

Night time is the right time to visit downtown Oklahoma City and take part in the 4th annual Downtown Dash. These unique evening 10K and 5K races take place on June 2 and offer a race unlike most. It's the city's only night race that leads you through the heart of the city with spectacular up-close views of the downtown skyline. The Downtown Dash is presented by St. Anthony Hospital, where the races will start and finish. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and the races begin at 8 p.m.

This family-friendly event will provide fun for both runners and non-runners alike. Attendees will enjoy an informative health expo, inflatable toys, kid activities, a live DJ and more.

Online registration for the Downtown Dash is now open. The first 1,000 entries receives a Dri-Fit version of the race shirt and will be automatically entered into a drawing for a 1-year membership to the Park Harvey Athletic Club, so register today! Oklahoma City Pro-Am Classic (6.8 miles)

The inaugural Oklahoma City Pro-Am Classic will begin at 11 a.m. June 2 at Schlegel Bicycles, 900 N Broadway.

The bicycling event, put on by SandRidge Energy and DNA Racing, will include a full day of racing, a children's ride and family activities.

Created to showcase the growing developments in OKC, particularly the Automobile Alley district, the event seeks to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among children and adults and make a positive contribution to the community through cycling.

The Classic is a Category A race with a payout of more than $20,000.

Organizers expect the event will attract some of the nation's elite racers.

All proceeds will benefit White Fields, which helps neglected or abused boys become productive citizens.

Take Steps Be Heard! Take Steps Fundraising Walk for Crohn's & Colitis is CCFA's largest fundraising event. Participants raise funds and awareness throughout the year and come together to celebrate the steps that have been taken towards a cure. This is a 1-3 mile walk. Food, kids' area, music and festivities after the walk. Those donating or raising a minimum of $25 will be given a wristband to attend the festivities. There is no registration fee for the walk but a donation is anticipated as this is a fundraising walk. Those who register online or join an existing team raising $100 or more will receive a Take Steps Tshirt the day of the walk. More incentives the more money you raise.

Little anglers love the annual "Hooked on Fishing" free summer fishing clinics. Instructors teach anglers age 5-15 how to tie knots, cast lines, identify fish and much more. Parents are asked to accompany children under 13.

No equipment needed. Fishing permits not required during class. Classes run 8-10 a.m.
