Illuminated Manuscript Calligraphy

Grades/Ages: 2nd grade and up

Come learn to paint beautiful alphabets using gold, silver, pen and ink and other colors just like the Kings and Queens of long ago. You will use black paper to create your name or write a poem. These are beautiful and a treasure to keep!

Families, artists and onlookers will be picking up pieces of chalk to express their creativity at the first "Chalk the Walk" Festival on Saturday June 16, 2012 (Father's Day weekend) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oklahoma City's first chalk art event will offer fun activities and amateur art competitions, all in support of Parents Assistance Center, a local non-profit that has been working to strengthen families since 1976.
For only $15 (before May 16, and $20 after!), you can register as an artist and try your hand at creating a sidewalk masterpiece in chalk. Register up to 4 artists per sidewalk square.
For only $5 a family can participate in all the fun activities--live music, hands-on kids fun, and of course, watching the artists create sidewalk masterpieces! Fantastic food from local restaurants is also available!

Wild About Horses & Crazy for Art!

Grades/Ages: 4 and up

If you love horses, animals, nature and art, this class is for you! Located 8 minutes from the FAI, on the instructor’s beautiful 10 acre horse farm, you will learn amazing skills in drawing & painting. Choose from the garden, the birds, the dogs, rabbit, the horse or ponies for your subjects! This is an enchanting peaceful place to spend a few hours developing your inner artist. One on one parent/grandparent with child teams welcome to enroll. Bring your own supplies of a large sketch pad, soft pastels, charcoal, pencil, eraser and watercolor set with brush; paper towels, and a drink!**date in summer brochure is incorrect!
