Shrink Art Jewelry
Grades/Ages: 6-12 years
Your drawing skills will be used to create a one of a kind pendant. Once artwork is completed, Stephanie heats the plastic sheeting, melting it to pendant size. Your unique pendant will be strung with a variety of beads creating an amazing designer necklace which will become a treasured keepsake.

Steampunk Necklace
Grades/Ages: 16 and up
Steampunk jewelry has made a real comeback in recent years. Vintage parts are becoming harder and harder to find so our class will be using replica parts to create a truly one of kind necklace. Some of the items we will be using will include watch parts, keys, typewriter parts, metal hearts, lockers tags, etc. The pieces attach to an antiqued bronze chain.

Takes place at Fine Arts Institute
Wire Wrapping Watch
Grades/Ages: 16 and up
You will create a watch unique to you from beginning to end using silver faced watches, pewter chain, silver headpins, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. The basic principles of wire wrapping will be taught in class. While this is a beginner class, it does take some dexterity and patience. A great refresher course too!

When the 26th annual Red Earth Native American Cultural Festival opens at the Cox Convention Center downtown Oklahoma City, OK, more than 1200 American Indian artists and dancers from throughout North America will gather to celebrate the richness and diversity of their heritage with the world. For three exciting days Oklahoma City will be at the center of Native American art and culture in America as more than 30,000 people gather to celebrate.

Girl's Night Out Lariat
Grades/Ages: adults/teens
Enjoy a girl’s night out at the FAI and have fun learning a new skill! You will design a romantic and elegant three-strand pearl lariat on silk. Using white freshwater pearls and colored freshwater pearls as an accent, students will hand string on silk learning how to create multi-strand necklaces and how lariats are worn. Refreshments will be served.

Girl's Night Out Cameo Necklace
Grades/Ages: adults/teens
Enjoy a girl’s night out at the FAI and learns something new! Keep up with today’s fashions; the Cameo has made a huge comeback. Using freshwater pearls, pewter, silver headpins, and a cameo, students will learn the art of wire wrapping. Some dexterity required. Refreshments will be served.

Join our guest artists on Saturdays, 1-4 pm, as they help families to create extraordinary works of art inspired by the Museum’s collection, exhibitions, and special occasions throughout the year. No advance registration is required for you and your children to drop in and make and take a unique creation home with you! Free with paid Museum admission.
