Housing permanent exhibits aimed at illustrating life in Stillwater from the present day all the way back to the land run days, this museum also boasts some nationally recognized exhibits in addition to housing several award winning traveling exhibits. One permanent collection features the Sheerar Button Collection, with some 4,000 buttons dating from the 1740s to the 1930s. While visiting, don't miss a visit to the Heritage Gardens, a special project garden that contains heirloom plants used in this area since statehood. The Sheerar is located in the downtown cultural district. The museum includes an auditorium which seats 200 people. All facilities are available for rental by individuals and groups.
