The Women's Business Center of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma, Inc. (REI) presents a seminar for business owners and entrepreneurs in the Shawnee Area.. “Girls Just Want To Have Funds” is the topic for this workshop. Presenters include Vicki Petete, CPA; Dr. Sissy O’Steen, OSU Resource Management Specialist, Patsy Akers, aka The Bag Lady, and Sonya McDaniel, Pottawatomie County OSU Extension. Whe seminar will be held at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Pow Wow Grounds North Reunion Hall, 1700 Gordon Cooper Drive, in Shawnee. There is no fee for attendance. Lunch will be provided by Citizen Potawatomi Nation, but attendees must RSVP by November 23, 2009 to Lori Smith at 800-658-2823 .This seminar will focus on money and finances. Everyone wants more money but there is the ability to stretch what you have and use what is available to get better results. Topics to be covered include taxes – with tax season approaching learn helpful tips to help with reporting and getting all the advantages to help ease the tax burden. Credit – the good, the bad and the ugly – will focus on using credit in a good way as well as looking at credit reports and other aspects of credit. Also, financial planning will be presented as a means for achieving financial goals for now and for retirement years. All of these impact the small business owner from many different directions. Although these workshops are specifically planned for women entrepreneurs, they are open to all business owners and entrepreneurs.
