Positive Dance Moms (and Dads)
With all that's happening on reality TV, I feel that dance moms (and dads) are misrepresented. I’m thinking that it’s time to shine a positive light on the dedication and sacrifices that 99.9% of dance parents make so that their child can dance. Without the parents there would be no dancing lessons for any child :-)
THE DANCE MOMS (and dads) I KNOW HAVE anonymously paid for other children’s tuition, shoes, costumes, etc., just because they cared.
THE DANCE MOMS (and dads) I KNOW HAVE taken on a second job so that their child has the opportunity to experience the wonderful world of dance.
THE DANCE MOMS (and dads) I KNOW HAVE sat at the studio (with me) until 2:00 AM sewing so that the dancers had a costume the next day, and their child wasn’t even in the class.
THE DANCE MOMS (and dads) I KNOW HAVE sacrificed family vacations, reunions, graduations and other lifetime events so that their child could keep their commitment to dance.
