I was with a party of 11 on a Saturday night when we visited Upper Crust. First of all, we tried to call ahead and put in our name since we had a large party, but they wouldn't take it and told us we'd have to wait until our entire party arrived before they'd put us in line. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes. However, I love the location on Classen Curve and the design and interior of the restaurant is very nice and upscale. Once seated, we had 2 waiters dedicated to our table which was very helpful. They both did a great job and were very prompt. We were definitely pleased with the service.
We ordered the Garlic Cheese Bread and Buffalo Style Wings for appetizers. Very good! The Wings were pretty spicy and small, but very tasty. I also had a house salad. It was just so-so. For pizza options, I tried the Margherita as well as Mikey's Pie. I wasn't a fan of Mikey's Pie at all... the chicken on it was a bit dry. However, the Margherita was delicious. There were several children in our party and they loved the Cheese pizza! Also, the drink options are great. Try the Purple Rain! Very good. The only major complaint I have (and the reason I give them 3 stars) is that this place is loud. VERY LOUD. I couldn't talk to everyone at our table. Even those just across the table from me were difficult to hear. I honestly don't know if I'll be back - at least not on a weekend - because of the noise. It makes it difficult to enjoy your meal when you have to scream at your friends and the wait staff. Several times the waiters had to ask us to repeat something because they couldn't hear us. I've spoken with others that have been to Upper Crust on a weekday for lunch and they said that the noise wasn't an issue, however, everyone in our party on Saturday night agreed that it was too noisy.
To sum it up: good food, good location, neat atmosphere. However, it's loud. Much too loud.
