Screenprinting with Curtis Jones
Saturday and Sunday, February 25 & 26 | 1 - 5 pm | $110 (supplies included)
INSTRUCTOR: CURTIS JONES
Screenprinting with photo stencils is most often associated with commercial applications such as sign making and t-shirt printing. Because of this, most people assume that a well-appointed professional shop is required to achieve proper results. The focus of this workshop will be to dispel this myth and show techniques that can be utilized to incorporate this exciting and versatile process into the simplest of studio situations.
Curtis Jones was born and raised in Renton, Washington, a suburb 10 miles southeast of Seattle. He attended the University of Washington, where he received a BFA in Printmaking- focusing in Zinc Plate Etching- in 1994. After graduating, he spent several years working as a freelance graphic designer before returning to graduate school in 2001. In 2003, Jones received his MFA in Printmaking from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, his graduate studies focused on screenprinting and installation art. Jones accepted a professorship at the University of Oklahoma in 2005, where he has worked ever since.
