A rock-paper-scissors tournament in Oklahoma City will be used to raise funds for South African children. The Vilakazi Foundation will host “Rock-Paper-Scissors: The Playground Throw Down,” from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Brix Restaurant and Sports Lounge, 27 E Sheridan Ave.

The entry fee is $5 per heat. Players can purchase entries to as many heats as they’d like. Prizes include Oklahoma City Thunder tickets, University of Oklahoma basketball tickets, as well as gift cards for businesses in the Oklahoma City area. We'll have door prizes and a silent auction.

Funds raised from the tournament will purchase medical, educational and athletic supplies for children in South Africa. The supplies will be delivered during the Vilakazi Foundation’s 2012 South African trip. The Vilakazi Foundation is an Oklahoma City-based charity that raises funds for medical, educational and athletic supplies for children in South Africa. The organization is named after Vilakazi Street, a road in Soweto, South Africa, that is the only street in the world that was home to two Noble Peace Prize winners: Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Vilakazi Foundation was founded in 2009.
