This is in reards to OU Health Center, as a whole, not for any...  Read full review This is in reards to OU Health Center, as a whole, not for any particular dept. or building or service. This is a teaching hospital/facility, and as such, I have found that the doctors and residents really seem to be much more knowledgeable on cutting edge treatments. My own experience and viewpoint is in regards to the OU Breast Cancer Institute. The oncologists, surgeons, radiologists and the techinicians and staff that accompany them are truly some of the most compassionate and knowledgeable people I have come across. On a different level are those who I have had to deal with in the patient billing administration areas. Those are less than compassionate, IMO. This hospital provides charity benefits, but nobody there will let you in on that secret. You have to "insist" that they work with you and stay on top of everything financially. The nurses in the chemotherapy department were so very helpful, as I know the three that were there during my treatments had all been through what I was going through. They offered all sorts of helpful advice on coping and were always there as a shoulder to lean on. I fully trust my oncologist and my surgeon, who has over 35 years of experience in treating my type of cancer.
