Persons researching their families for any length of time have encountered the problems with researching females. In our society, their names change with marriage. And in the past, females could not own property or enter into contracts, which makes locating them in legal records even more difficult. So, what’s a researcher to do? Learn how to consider the times and some of the techniques for researching the females in your family with Research Division Librarian Debra Spindle, PhD.
