Bird watchers treasure Lake Hefner as one of the best locations in central Oklahoma. Dozens of water bird species stop along the 17-mile shoreline during their annual migrations through America's central flyway. Lake Hefner, built in 1947, is an excellent lake for fishing and boating.
Municipal park includes baseball fields, basketball goals, fishing, golf course, playgrounds, recreation center, softball fields, tennis courts and over nine miles of walk/run/bike trails.
