There are three foods I love above all others: soups, cheeses and milkshakes. Finding a restaurant that excels at just one makes me happy. Finding all three in one place seems too good to be true. Put that restaurant close to my office, and we have a seri...

I've been to Kaiser's twice. The location is great and the atmosphere is very cool, too. I love the historic feel of the building. Each time I ordered a burger and was not disappointed. They have different options for adding various cheeses to the burgers and it's all so good! I also like their french fries. The first time I visited on a Saturday night and we were seated at a table, menus brought to us and the waiter took our order. He explained different things on the menu, gave recommendations and was generally very helpful. Kaiser's wasn't busy at all and the service was very good. Drinks are a bit pricey but the food was reasonably priced.
However, the second time around (also on a Saturday night) they were much busier. We called ahead because we had a party of 11. They told me that they had room for us but that we might have a wait. We only waited about 5 minutes, so that wasn't a problem. However, they changed it up a bit and now when you order, you have to go up to the counter. It just doesn't really work, especially with a large party and more of a challenge if you have children with you. Plus, there's not a lot of room to order and it's a bit awkward standing next to other seated guests while you wait to order. They brought us our food in a timely manner, but only checked on us once during the entire meal. The food was very good this time as well, but I just don't like the new order-at-the-counter situation. Like I said, with a small party it probably wouldn't be a major issue, but with kids and more than 4 people it's highly inconvenient. I do believe that I'll go back to Kaiser's again, but won't be a frequent customer.
