Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity and the kennel club are hosting the Extreme Dog House Competition through Sunday at Penn Square Mall, 1901 Northwest Expressway.
Seven doghouses will be on display, and pet owners can purchase raffle tickets to vie for them.
Wendy Musgrove and members of the Oklahoma City and Mid-Del Tinker kennel clubs spent three weeks building a castle for a canine. The castle doghouse will be given away during the raffle, and one lucky dog will occupy the royal home and live as a king or queen.
The cost is $5 for one ticket or $20 for five. All seven houses will be given away at 4 p.m. Sunday. Guest judges will determine which builders will win prizes.
Proceeds go toward Habitat for Humanity’s construction budget, said Ann Felton, habitat chairman and chief executive officer.
Other doghouses include a home for miniature dogs and a house built by Camp Fire USA using recycled material.
