"Life Before Statehood," an exhibit featuring contemporary impressionist works by Brent Learned, is on view through February 12 in the state Capitol's East Gallery, 2300 N Lincoln Blvd.

A member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, Learned uses bold, vibrant colors to capture the heritage and culture of the American Plains Indians.
