He will also discuss landscape design considerations when using native plants. He has a weekly public radio show and podcast, Ken Druse– Real Dirt, and has written for the New York Times and many shelter magazines.
Tallamy will teach participants how to promote wildlife conservation in their own garden with the use of native plants. An award-winning writer, Tallamy is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware in Newark. His book, “Bringing Nature Home: How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants”, has sparked a national conversation about the link between healthy local ecosystems and human well-being. Tallamy’s ardent advocacy on the topic has been instrumental in inspiring and educating home gardeners about the pivotal role native plants play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
Schnelle has a great knowledge of native plants that are useful in the Oklahoma landscape. A professor and extension specialist at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Schnelle has lectured on plant materials and worked on horticultural projects throughout the United States and the world.
