Catholic Charities invites you to don your fanciest green attire and kick off the St. Patrick's Day festivities a week early - all for a good cause. Green Tie Gala is Catholic Charities annual fundraiser and proceeds benefit Sanctuary Women's Development Center, a south Oklahoma City shelter for homeless and at-risk women and children.

The event also honors David Egan, operations director for Cattlemen's Steakhouse and president of the Stockyard City Main Street organization. Egan has been named grand marshal of the 2011 St. Patrick's Parade, which winds through downtown Oklahoma City on March 19.

The gala will be at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel. Tickets are $125.
