The festival includes indoor and outdoor concerts, panel discussions, special activities for children, open mics, poetry readings, spontaneous hootenannies, community outreach activities, and more.
The festival is a FREE 4-Day family-friendly event.
Artists scheduled to perform at this time include Jimmy LaFave, Ellis Paul, Slaid Cleaves, Don Conoscenti, John Fullbright, Ronny Cox, John Fullbright, The Burns Sisters, John Wort Hannam, Joel Rafael, The Red Dirt Rangers, Monica Taylor, Ronny Cox, John Flynn, JohnSmith, Butch Hancock and David Anmram.
Making her festival debut is Gretchen Peters, whose “Independence Day” was nominated for a Grammy Award and was the Country Music Association’s 1995 Song of the Year. Also making their festival debut is Emma’s Revolution, whose “If I Give Your Name” won Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
Woody Guthrie’s youngest sister, Mary Jo Guthrie Edgmon, is the festival’s perennial guest of honor. The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, supported by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council, attracts attendees from around the world.
