NCED Car and Bike Show (2.4 miles)

Takes place at National Center for Employee Development

The annual NCED Car & Bike Show in Norman will feature several different car categories, plus a handful of motorcycle categories. Browse through everything from pre-1950 classics to modern-day street rods. Awards will be given for best paint, best engine and best interior, as well as best Mustang, Corvette, truck, import and more. Come to the NCED Car & Bike Show for food and fun for the entire family. Barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, slushies, soft drinks and ice cream will be available for purchase during the show.

It's estimated about 79 million people in the United States have pre-diabetes, the condition where blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not yet high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes.

Battle of the Burger (5.5 miles)

Takes place at Marc Heitz Chevrolet

If you think you have the best burger on the block or you can grill up a burger juicier than any other, put your burger where your mouth is and attend this year's Battle of the Burger in Norman. Enter the contest or sample the burgers prepared by participating cooking and grilling teams. Celebrity judges will decide whose burger wins the battle. The Battle of the Burger will also feature live music, children's activities and a silent auction. If you want to participate in the contest, or if you just want to enjoy the food, music and good old-fashioned family fun, come to Norman's Battle of the Burger.

Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art Hosting Trip to Arkansas Museum (3.4 miles)

Takes place at Hobby Lobby Creative Centers

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art is planning a trip to the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Ark., on June 4. The museum's permanent collection features American masterworks dating from the Colonial era to contemporary times.

The bus will leave at 7 a.m. from Norman's Hobby Lobby, 2417 S Main, then proceed to Oklahoma City for a 7:30 a.m. pickup at Science Museum Oklahoma, 2100 NE 52. Cost for museum members and docents is $145; for nonmembers, $160. The approximate return time is 8:30 p.m.

Free public reception: Friday, June 1, 6 to 8 p.m.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Oklahoma will provide entertainment for the opening reception. A Chinese Lion Dance will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a women's solo dance, children's dancing and a yo-yo-show. The event also will feature family-friendly activities such as calligraphy and paper folding, refreshments and music played on a traditional Chinese zheng, a stringed instrument used as early as 300 B.C.
