Lecture – The Portrayal of Asians in Contemporary Film

As part of the Pioneer Library System's annual Big Read: The Joy Luck Club Dr. Wayne Stein, Professor of English at the University of Central Oklahoma, will explain how Asians have been portrayed in popular American media and film over the years, how Hollywood depicts Asians now and how Asians have managed to find a voice in places like YouTube. His presentation will include several film clips and will include a Q&A period.
