Lecture – Museums in the 21st century: New Audiences and Old Values in the Gulf

Art historian and former president of the Rhode Island School of Design, Roger Mandle oversees the Qatar Museums Authority in the Arabian Gulf. The QMA includes the newly-opened Museum of Islamic Art, the National Museum of Qatar, the Orientalist Museum and the Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art. Mandle will address the recent intellectual and cultural renaissance of the Middle East and will review the plans and aspirations of the most of the Gulf nation states.
