We will have the Hide Art to Fine Art exhibit at the Jacobson house featuring the works of Kiowa ledger and hide painters and the Kiowa Five artists. The opening is Friday February 10th.
The Caesar Family will have an Indian Taco sale at the Jacobson House starting at 5pm. The Gotebo family will provide refreshments at 6:30pm and give a talk about the Gotebo family history and the art by Ms. Deloras Harragarra and Judge Phil Lujan who has the Gotebo Kiowa name, at 7:30 Kevin Warren Smith will give an art talk about the transition from hide to ledger to museum painting for Native peoples.
The Hide Art to Fine Art Exhibit can also be viewed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10-5 and Saturdays from 1-5 until March 2, 2012.
