The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office and Bridges of Norman are partnering to bring “Building Bridges One Foot at a Time,” a charity race that will benefit Bridges of Norman.

The race is scheduled for June 9 at Bridges, 1670 N. Stubbeman Ave., Norman.

The cost to register for the 5K is $15 and $10 for the one-mile Fun Run/Walk. Each registrant will receive a T-shirt. Early registration runs through May 18. Those who sign up after May 18 will be charged an extra $5 per race.

All proceeds will go to Bridges of Norman, which helps high school students who are living alone due to a family crisis.

Stations and Fundamentals
Each day, the campers will experience various stations, specializing in fundamental skills of football. Individual groups will be small to assure that each camper gets maximum instruction from the top football coaches in the Norman area.

Games and Competition
Campers will participate in daily games, stations, and skill contests during the Sam Bradford Football ProCamp. Each camper will be placed on a team according to his or her age.

Instructional Lectures
Sam will give daily talks highlighting the finer points of the game of football and beyond. Parents and guests will be able to listen to camp guests in designated areas at each location.

Camp Store
Additional snacks, drinks and assorted football camp items available for purchase.

Camp Concessions
For the convenience and safety of the campers, a Camp Bracelet will be available for $10. The Camp Bracelet includes 2 sports drinks, lunch, and 1 snack each day. Bracelets are non-refundable.

Inclement Weather Policy:
In the event of heavy rain or inclement weather, the camp will be moved to a nearby indoor facility. Camp instruction and other related activities will continue inside the facility. Parents will be notified of the indoor location in the Camp Bulletin that they receive at check-in on the first day of camp. Alternate days/make-up sessions/refunds will not be offered. The decision to modify the schedule rests solely with the camp director and management.

The Norman Parks and Recreation Department is offering summer sports camps for children in soccer, baseball, volleyball, softball, football, basketball, cheer and tumbling, strength and training and speed and agility.

Most of the classes are for youths 7 through 14. Cost is $45 to $75 for all but the football camp, which is $95.

All camps will be held at Whittier Middle School.
