Generational Leadership Workshop (9.0 miles)

Takes place at Chamber of Commerce Moore

Older and younger generations are spending more time together in the workplace, causing businesses to experience generational diversity.

On June 6, Oklahoma City Community College will partner with the Moore Chamber of Commerce to present the Generational Leadership Workshop from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moore Chamber of Commerce, 305 W Main St.

Speaker Jan Astani will familiarize participants with the different types of generations, discuss why people of different age groups think and act the way they do, and teach strategies for working more productively with all generations.

Astani specializes in transformational speaking, training and writing. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma's School of Journalism, her background includes marketing, sales and real estate. She served as the Moore Chamber of Commerce president in 2011.

Astani is working on a book dedicated to her mother's memory, and she enjoys reading, traveling, blogging (http://janastani.wordpress.com) and Zumba.

Registration is $25 for Moore Chamber of Commerce members and $35 for nonmembers.

Response Ability Pathways Training Workshop (5.6 miles)

Takes place at Northhaven Church

The Center for Children and Families Inc. will hold a Response Ability Pathways training for professionals and lay persons who work with young people from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 31 through June 1 at Northhaven Church, 4600 36th Ave. NW, Norman, Oklahoma.

Response Ability Pathways provides skills for working effectively with youths and supporting them on pathways toward responsibility. Continuing education credits are available for licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists.

Sooner Networking Group (1.5 miles)

Takes place at The Red Room and happens on Tuesdays

Sooner Networking Group is an emerging BNI club seeking charter status. We are quickly growing week by week to reach the required 25 committed members. We welcome you to join us each Tuesday morning bright and early at 7:30am to meet your fellow Norman, Oklahoma business owners, marketing managers, and community executives.

You will want to bring at least 20-25 business cards to share, and be prepared to give a 60-second elevator speech about your company's products or services. We're hear to help bring you referrals, serving as an extended sales force in the Norman, Moore, and Greater Oklahoma City community.

Takes place at Cafe Broccato in Platt College and happens on Tuesdays

Join us every Tuesday for a cup of coffee and a free opportunity to share about your business or organization. Bring business cards and invite your friends to join us! We will meet from 7:45-8:45 every Tuesday morning. Platt College is located at 201 N. Eastern Avenue in Moore. This event is not industry exclusive and does not require an RSVP.
