In a 1936 WPA exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, the New Mexico woodcarver Patrociño Barela was considered the star of the show. He is recognized by contemporary santeros as a source of inspiration. Get acquainted with the museum’s permanent collection during these free 45-minute talks featuring works including in temporary exhibitions. Light refreshments will be served.
