A training session for volunteer tutors for the Norman Public Library's adult literacy program will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the library, 225 N Webster Ave.
Each prospective tutor must take part in at least one training session before being placed with a student. Tutors must be 18 or older and be a high school graduate.
Tutors can work with adult students learning English as a second language or with native speakers who have reading challenges.
Future training sessions will be on the second Saturday of each month, beginning in September and continuing through April.
