Summer Camp 2012 (9.1 miles)

Takes place at Camp DaKaNi and happens every Monday through Friday

Embracing with adventure, Camp DaKaNi gives boys and girls a chance to experience nature through archery, canoeing, hiking, rock-climbing, fishing, sing-a-longs, games and more on 33 wooded acres. The camp is operated by Camp Fire USA.

2012 Camp DaKaNi Sessions:

Day Camp Sessions are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Campers arriving early or arriving later must be enrolled in Before & After Care.

Session 1 -- June 4th - 8th
Session 2 -- June 11th - 15th
Session 3 -- June 18th - 22nd
Session 4 -- June 25th - June 29th
MaKaYa -- July 5th - 7th
Session 5 -- July 9th - 13th
Session 6 -- July 16th - 20th
Camp C.A.N.O.E. -- July 23rd - 27th (Children with Autism Need Outdoor Experiences)

Summer Tennis Camp (11.9 miles)

Takes place at Casady School and happens every Monday through Thursday

Summer Tennis Camp at Casady School
5 - 18 years old / All Levels
June 4 - July 19

TOTS: 5-6 years old
Students learn the basic skills of tennis with exercises and games in hand-eye coordination and movement games. This class uses the Quickstart format of larger foam balls, lower nets and smaller courts.
8:15am-9am M-Th $60

BEGINNERS: 7 years old and up
Students learn the basic strokes and begin to rally the ball with each other to build consistency and confidence. This class uses low compression balls, lower nets and smaller courts. Drills and games will be used to emphasize proper technique and footwork.
9:00am-12:00pm M-Th $110

INTERMEDIATES: 7 years old and up
Students focus on groundstrokes, volleys and serves. Drills and games will be used to simulate playing situations. Court positioning and strategy will be taught.
9:00am-12:00pm M-Th $110

ADVANCED: By permission of coach
This player should have an interest in tournament and/or high school play. Students refine groundstrokes, volleys and serves with focus on extended rallying skills. Drills, games and match play will be included in every session.
9:00am-12:00pm and 12:30-3:30 M-Th $110

Students should bring a water bottle, sunscreen,hat, towel and a racket to the courts.

Summer Camps (6.5 miles)

Takes place at Oklahoma City Zoo and happens every Tuesday through Friday

Meet Tuesday – Friday, from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Cost per child per week: $100 (member), $110 (non-member).
Provide snack, but children must bring lunch.
Require birth certificates to verify age.

Home is where your heart is! An animal’s home can be in a tree, hole, field, or even the sea. Come discover the best homes on the nature market.

• Get Out
June 5 - 8 (8 - 11 yrs)
Tracking wild animals, trapping turtles and fishing in zoo lake are just some of the fun adventures we will have while playing outside.

• Zoo Borns
June 12 - 15 (4 - 5 yrs)

If you love baby animals, you’re in for a treat! Come explore the new additions to our zoo family and learn how we care for these bundles of joy.

• Something’s Fishy

Dive into this underwater camp as we explore the zoo’s aquatic wonders and the many ways of catching fish.

• Project Noah
June 12 - 15 (12 - 15 yrs)
Connect with nature and unleash your wild side. We will photograph and identify Oklahoma plants and animals then share our discoveries with scientists around the world!

• Zooper Shapes
June 19 - 22 (3 yrs – must be potty trained)
Circles, squares, triangles, Oh MY! Join us on a zoo-fari to explore and meet different-shaped animals.

• Tales of Tails

Stories come to life as we explore some of our favorite animal stories from around the world. Join us for this exciting reading adventure that will leave you eager for more.

• Harry Potter’s ZooWarts

Come to ZooWarts for one last celebration of Harry Potter lore, and meet the real animals who inspired the series’ mythical creatures.

• Snakes Scales and Turtle Tails

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
1. Cancellations must be in writing—no phone or email cancellations will be accepted.
Mail to: Education Department, OKC Zoo, 2101 NE 50th, OKC, OK 73111.
2. No refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days prior to program start date.
3. Classes are transferable to children in the same age group.
4. A 20% service charge will apply for any changes in the original registration.
5. The Zoo reserves the right to cancel classes if registration is below required minimum.
