World Trade Center I-Beam at Fort Sill (4.3 miles)

Takes place at Fort Sill Field Artillery Museum and happens every Tuesday through Saturday

Fort Sill has added a piece of history to its Field Artillery Museum, with a piece of the World Trade Center now on permanent display.

The twisted and smashed I-beam, measuring about 31 inches tall by 16 inches wide, was recovered at the trade center site in June 2002 by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Museum workers cleaned the beam and put a protective coating on it. Otherwise, the piece stands as it was taken from the massive pile of debris in 2002.

The Field Artillery Museum is just off Interstate 44, inside Fort Sill's Key Gate West and is open from 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
