Takes place at Spring Creek Park

Kids Fishing Derby

Kids age 5 – 15 may enter this event on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Spring Creek Park (located approx. 2 ½ miles east of I-35 on Edmond’s SE 15th Street).

Kids start fishing at 8am. Final weigh-in is 11am. Prizes are awarded at noon.

Bring bait, fishing equipment, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and lawn chair. Concessions and worms will be for sale at the event site.

Kids may begin registering at 7:30am and no one will be allowed to register after 9am.

Parent or Guardian must accompany children.

Cost is FREE.

Little anglers love the annual "Hooked on Fishing" free summer fishing clinics. Instructors teach anglers age 5-15 how to tie knots, cast lines, identify fish and much more. Parents are asked to accompany children under 13.

No equipment needed. Fishing permits not required during class. Classes run 8-10 a.m.

Family Fishing Clinic (8.8 miles)

Takes place at Arcadia Conservation Education Area and Weekly on Thursday

Free Family Fishing Clinic. The Fishing Clinic will cover knot tying, safe casting and fish identification followed by fishing. Summer Camp 2012 (5.0 miles)

Takes place at Camp DaKaNi and happens every Monday through Friday

Embracing with adventure, Camp DaKaNi gives boys and girls a chance to experience nature through archery, canoeing, hiking, rock-climbing, fishing, sing-a-longs, games and more on 33 wooded acres. The camp is operated by Camp Fire USA.

2012 Camp DaKaNi Sessions:

Day Camp Sessions are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Campers arriving early or arriving later must be enrolled in Before & After Care.

Session 4 -- June 25th - June 29th
