This ongoing education series was the first to be established in the state of Oklahoma. This program provides information about substance abuse and other addiction and how these issues affect each member of the family.

• Intervention, Treatment, and Recovery – Hope for Tomorrow

Out of respect for the participant and speaker, there will be no admittance after 6:30pm. A cash fee is required for verification of attendance and CEU’s; otherwise, the program is free. We ask that if you need verification of attendance or CEU’s, you arrive no later than 6:15pm. Children under 18 years of age must attend with a parent or guardian.

The Integris Health Hispanic Initiative and Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service have teamed to provide free nutrition classes at Integris Southwest Medical Center. Classes begin Sept. 13 and will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. They will be in the Southwest Medical Office Building, 4200 S Douglas Ave., Suite B-10.
Diana Romano, a registered dietitian, will teach the Spanish-language classes. Topics will include healthy weight loss; how to read food labels; diet and cardiovascular disease; diet and osteoporosis; and how to eat in a healthy way during the holidays. In this country, Hispanics have disproportionately high incidents of obesity and chronic health conditions, according to a news release from Integris Health. The classes will include information about how nutrition affects diabetes, high blood pressure and bone loss.
