After seeing the episode Man vs Food on Discovery the other night,...  Read full review After seeing the episode Man vs Food on Discovery the other night, my family and I decided to go try it out this past Friday night. We split the sampler and it was sooo delicious and I am a huge fan of catfish. The hushpuppies were so good too and I got to meet the owners who are very nice people. We will definitely be going back for more.

I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive when we arrived; looking at the place from the outside made me wonder if the restaurant might collapse on us while eating. But the "beauty" of this restaurant is definitely inside. All of the staff was extremely friendly, the decor was definitely "funky", but let me tell you - the food was AWESOME! I debated whether to spend $4 more to order the "all you can eat" catfish or wimp out and just order the catfish dinner. When I found out that the standard dinner included FIVE catfish fillets, I knew I had just saved $4. Adding the fried okra and french fries (yeah, a real healthy meal!) made it perfect. The catfish was absolutely delicious. The fillets were much thicker than I usually find at a seafood restaurant, so I actually tasted fish and not just the coating. After eating 4 excellent fillets, I surrendered to the "to go" box and took home my next day's lunch. If you can find a parking place and want to enjoy some great catfish - this is the place to go!

After driving by for years and noticing that the parking lot was ALWAYS full, we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is casual and feels like the kind of place that is a hidden gem - the restaurant was busy, clean, and the staff very friends. For $8.99 I hade 5 catfish fillets, hush-puppies, and fried okra. The fried foods were fresh, crisp, not-greasy, and hot - not a hint of any bad cooking oil. I can't wait to go back and try the steak. Definitely one of my new favorites.
