This was one of many sit-in protests in Oklahoma City which resulted in the Integration of Katz Drug Store, Split-T Drive-in, the Skirvin Hotel and hundreds of other businesses. Takes place at Sportsman's Hunting Club & Country Club
Ed Engle, fly fishing guide and author of several books, will speak Saturday, February 11 at Sportsman Country Club.
Event is sponsored by the 89er Chapter of Trout Unlimited and is free and open to the public.
Engle will be giving a fly tying demonstration and then speaking on offbeat tactics that catch trout.

Come paint bisque pieces and make them original works of art. Choose from our stock of plates, mugs, garden critters, bowls and more. Finished pieces will be glazed and picked up at a later date. Come see man and machine put to the ultimate test of endurance, speed, balance and skill on a dirt bike at the Indoor Enduro X. A full gate of the top pros and amateurs will sprint over obstacles in a mix of supercross and enduro format.
The course which will include over 20 6ft loader tires, 2 cars, a truck load of basketball sized rock, loads of telephone poles and logs all inside the arena will be built to challenging for the Pros while doable for the Amateurs.

Takes place at Mitch Park
On Feb. 11 the Edmond Running Club will host its 17th annual Frigid Five 5-mile run and 1-mile fun run to benefit Allied Arts, Edmond Parks and Recreation and cross country teams from area high schools.
The event will be at Edmond’s Mitch Park, and consists of a 5-mile run at 9 a.m., a 1-mile fun run at 9:15 a.m. and the McMurtrie Children’s 1-mile run at 8:30 a.m., which will count as an official mile in the OKC Memorial Children’s Marathon. There will also be awards, door prizes and food and drinks.
Participants can register online at www.signmeup.com or www.edmondrunningclub.com, and packets will be available for pick-up from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Elite Feet at 1237 E. Danforth or on the morning of the event starting at 7 a.m. at the Mitch Park MAC.
Registration for the 5-mile race is $25 including an event shirt, or $20 without one; $20 for the 1-mile adult fun run with a shirt, or $10 without one; and participation in the children’s run is free for children 11 years old or younger. Registration will be available on the day of the event, but the entry fee will be $28 and there is no guarantee that shirts will be available.
