Grades/Ages: ADULT/TEEN

Working from a live model each week, students will learn the fundamentals of drawing the portrait from life in the tradition of classical realism. Direct observation and understanding of the subject are key elements of drawing from life and students will learn to practice the use of the block-in, accurately translating size, proportion, line and the rendering of light and shade. This class is designed for all levels of artistic skill. Supplies are minimal: Good quality drawing paper, a variety of graphite pencils and erasers. 4 weeks. (NO CLASSES ON OCTOBER 17 OR NOVEMBER 21)
