A) Adult Oil Painting Portrait Studio

Grades/Ages: Adults/Teens

Painting the human face is both challenging and rewarding. Using oil paint you will learn the classical techniques needed to capture every facial feature and create a likeness. Step by step you will proceed through the stages of preliminary sketch, laying out the palette; the use of brushes and tools and mastering the painting of a true successful portrait. Regardless of your current level of artistry, look forward to developing your personal approach. The first class, while we are getting to know one another, students should bring a small canvas, charcoal and a photograph to work from. A supply list is provided on the FAI website. We will at time work with a model. Students' first meeting will be April 4th @ 10:00 for one hour. Supplies will be discussed during the first meeting.

Refunking 101: Furniture Make and Take Class (0.8 miles)

Takes place at Fine Arts Institute

All Day Furniture Finishing Workshop located at The Edmond Fine Arts Institute in Downtown Edmond, Oklahoma.

Workshop Fee: $175.00 $50.00 Deposit due upon reservation & remaining balance is paid the day of your workshop.

Class Limit: 8 Participants

B.Y.O.F.: Bring your own furniture! Please bring a piece that you are able to carry by
yourself – such as a small dresser, bookshelf, chair, side table, etc. We do provide a dolly the day of the workshop, but please limit your piece to less than "30 long. Furniture must be in good condition – prepped, clean, & ready to paint!

Techniques include: . Using CeCe Caldwell's All Green, NO VOCs, Paints you will learn aging, distressing, and old world finishing techniques, proper finishing with wax to create a durable, gorgeous finish and custom tinting with wax and paints as well as tons of furniture painting tips and tricks to save you time help you become more efficient in your creative process.

Workshop Details: Workshop includes instruction and furniture painting tips and tricks learned from owning our furniture painting business! We will be available to answer any questions you may have as you finish your piece of furniture with CeCe Caldwell’s Paints & Waxes. Classes are limited to 8 participants, so everyone gets one-on-one instruction! We provide a catered lunch, snacks, and drinks. *Workshop fee includes all paint and supplies. You will create a watch unique to you from beginning to end using silver faced watches, pewter chain, silver headpins, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. Steampunk jewelry has made a real comeback in recent years. Vintage parts are becoming harder and harder to find so our class will be using replica parts to create a truly one of kind necklace. Some of the items we will be using will include watch parts, keys, typewriter parts, metal hearts, lockers tags, etc. The pieces attach to an antiqued bronze chain.
