Grades/Ages: ADULT/TEEN

In this class, the student will be introduced to the fundamentals of drawing from life in the tradition of classical realism. Direct observation and understanding of the subject are key elements of beginning to draw. Through instructor demonstration, lecture, individual instruction and practice, students will learn the practical, step-by-step construction of the still-life. The classical drawing process includes the use of the block-in, accurately translating size, proportion, line and rendering light and shade. Supplies for this class are minimal: Large drawing pad, an assortment of graphite pencils and a kneaded eraser. 4 weeks. (NO CLASSES ON OCTOBER 15 OR NOVEMBER 19)
