Tonight, my husband and I rode our bike to this lovely restaurant.... Read full review Tonight, my husband and I rode our bike to this lovely restaurant. We were a bit wind blown but that has never seemed to be an issue before....we consider ourselves "regulars". To out astonishment, we were escorted past lovely empty tables and led up some steps to a tiny table facing the wall. We were completely cut off from the rest of the restaurant. The short little hostess (who looked and acted 12) slammed down some silverware, told us someone would be right with us, gave us a dismissive look, and sauntered off. It was quite humiliating. It was as if we were an embarrassment to the establishment. And so....we left. We have just loved riding up to this restaurant....we love Gene and Tina and Susie and the sweet sisters who always made us feel so welcome. Not to mention that the food is wonderful. We will miss them.

I love their veal and bratwurst, and they are really friendly in service. I would recommend this restraunt for anyone who likes german food and good hospitality.

Went to dinner there for New Year's Eve at 6pm a couple of years... Read full review Went to dinner there for New Year's Eve at 6pm a couple of years ago. Service was okay but we felt rushed to get us out for the next party. The recipes were fair, but they were out of spatzele, red cabbage and Black Forest Cake. Now, this was at 6pm on New Year's Eve which is one of the biggest dining out evenings of the year. You would have thought that they would have prepared enough of these popular items for that night. I could understand them possibly running out of it at 11pm, but 6pm? Never went back.
