The summer start-up holiday is also final racing day for the 2012 American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season at Remington Park. Bring the entire family for the exciting and fun afternoon at the races, and in the casino, on Memorial Day Monday, May 28.

The 45th Infantry Division Museum will conduct its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday, May 28, at the museum, 2145 NE 36, Oklahoma City.

This event pays tribute to the men and women who have served in our Nations Armed Forces and honors those men and women who have paid the ultimate price in service to their country. Please join us in paying tribute to the Veterans of our great State and our Nation.

Visitors to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum enjoy family entertainment at its finest during the annual Chuck Wagon Gathering & Children’s Cowboy Festival.

On Memorial Day weekend, authentic chuck wagon crews prepare delicious cowboy favorites for folks to sample, like biscuits and stew, beans and cobblers.

Stage entertainment ranges from a hilarious Old West Medicine Show to the sounds of acclaimed western singer Red Steagall and balladeer, Don Edwards. Activities include stagecoach and covered wagon rides, weaving and rope making.

The 2012 Bethany Freedom Festival is scheduled for Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

Pony rides, inflatables, and carnival rides and games will entertain the kiddos while the adults can look forward to festival food, a car show, and shopping.

There will be a concert featuring the Chris Henson Band.

The state’s finest fireworks display will bring the evening to a close.

Stars and Stripes River Festival (8.2 miles)

Takes place at Boathouse District

The inaugural Stars and Stripes River Festival is coming to the Oklahoma River, June 30-July 1. The festival will provide fun for those of all ages.

Saturday will include children’s activities throughout the day. Our kid’s area will include inflatable bounce houses, face painting and various games and contests. Kids will also have the opportunity to learn more about the numerous activities offered by OKC RIVERSPORT as a part of Olympic Day. Adults will be able to enjoy numerous local food and beverage vendors. The first day will cap off with a live musical act and fireworks show on Saturday night.

Guests will also have the opportunity to kick back and enjoy some great competition on and around the Oklahoma River throughout the two-day festival. Competitive events scheduled include the RIVERSPORT Challenge, corporate races and the Masters Regatta.

A breathtaking illuminated tour of 4 million twinkling lights, Yukon's Christmas in the Park is a beautiful drive through tour of three inter-connecting city parks that are lavishly decorated each holiday season. The event covers 100 acres and includes 4 million twinkling lights.

Christmas in the Park is open 6 to 11 PM nightly. It is located just five minutes west of Oklahoma City on I-40. It is a wonderful stop for families, groups, holiday travelers or anyone looking for the best Christmas lights in Oklahoma.

Admission is FREE. Donations are merrily accepted.
